This was Sabinal's first trip to the playoffs in 21 years (1959).
Sabinal scored first when Ruben Olivarez went around the left end for a 95-yard touchdown run. This run tied the school record for longest TD run. Bobby Allen, Freshmen, added the PAT. Charlotte tied the game on a 3-yrd TD run and PAT. Allen then booted a 24-yard field goal to give Sabinal a 10-7 halftime lead. Sabinal held this lead into the fourth quarter before Charlotte scored two touchdowns. Charlotte captured the Bi-District Championship 22-7.
